The Lia Schach Gherdëina Chess Club invites the public to take part in a blitz chess tournament, featuring games of 5–10 minutes, held in the former bar of Hotel Ladinia.
With this tournament, Lydia Ourahmane’s installation Hotel Ladinia is activated in a participatory and playful way. Hotel Ladinia (2026) was conceived by the artist to breathe new life into the abandoned bar of the former Hotel Ladinia. Closed since 1998, the space once served as a social hub where hotel guests and local residents gathered for a drink, a conversation, or a game.
Today, in collaboration with the Val Gardena Chess Club, this spirit is brought back to life through a chess tournament that symbolically reactivates the former bar as a place of encounter, exchange, and community.
