Venues and Exhibitions

The biennial will take place in three main venues spread across the valley: the main town of Ortisei, the town of S. Cristina, and Pilat.

€8 reduced (65+, students, groups 8+)

Getting Around

Future Paradise Gardens takes place across three locations: Ortisei, Pilat, and Santa Cristina.

The Biennale Info Point is located at Sala Trenker in Ortisei.
A complete visit to all the venues of the Biennale takes approximately 4–5 hours.

Ortisei: 18 projects exhibited, across 6 indoor and 6 outdoor venues
Pilat: 3 projects exhibited, all outdoor
Please note that Pilat can only be accessed on foot from Ortisei or Santa Cristina
Santa Cristina: 4 projects exhibited, across 3 indoor and 1 outdoor venues 

Recommended visiting order:
Ortisei → Pilat → Santa Cristina

 

Mobility in the Valley 

By Foot 
It is possible to visit all locations on foot, starting in Ortisei, moving up to Pilat (45 minutes hike), and proceeding to S. Cristina (another additional 60 minutes). 

Ortisei: Start at the Info Point. 
Pilat: Starting from Info Point, proceed in the direction of the Alpe di Siusi Cable Car (Mount Sëuc), follow the Biennale’s flags and sign along the public trail no. 15: from the town’s center, it’s a 45-minute uphill hike with 300m of elevation gain. Comfortable shoes mandatory. Once reached Maso Pilat and the three artworks displayed there, you can return along the same trail to Ortisei, or proceed to Santa Cristina staying on the trail no. 15 (ca. 60 min).
Santa Cristina: all venues are located on the same square, the Church’s square.

Public Transport
Two exhibition areas—Ortisei and S. Cristina—are accessible and connected by public transportation.

Please note that Pilat can only be accessed on foot from Ortisei or Santa Cristina.
 


By Car
You can reach Ortisei and Santa Cristina and travel between the two areas by car.
Parking is available near the main exhibition areas. 

Please note that Pilat can only be accessed on foot from Ortisei or Santa Cristina – the closest parking opportunity is located at the Garage Mont Sëuc in Ortisei. 


By Bike
Cycling between the three main exhibition areas is possible.
Travel time: between 40 and 60 minutes per leg.
To reach Pilat you can bike through Via Minert.

(FUTURE) PARADISE GARDENS OPENING DAY
The opening on Saturday, May 30 begins at 10 am. in front of Sala Trenker in Ortisei with a welcome and institutional presentation, followed by a curator-led tour. At 1 pm, Piazza S. Antonio hosts a culinary intervention by the artist Leonardo Bürgi Tenorio. In the afternoon, the programme continues in S. Cristina at 3 pm. with a guided tour, accompanied by a performance by Ana Prvački, Applied Honey Proverbs. A folkloric dip into proverbs from around the world, where ecology meets language and wisdom accumulates in drip. The day proceeds with a tour to Pilat from 6–7.30 pm. and concludes with a 10th anniversary celebration at the pasture Pilat from 7.30–9.30 pm. with music.

On Sunday, May 31 at 10:30 am., the biennial hosts its Vernissage for Kids, presenting a workshop by and with Pedro Abu Wirz and Michael Marder titled Making, Unmaking, and Remaking Us.

Guided Tours

Biennale Gherdëina offers the opportunity to discover the artworks in Ortisei and Pilat with a guided tour.
